Tesla FSD V14.3.9 Triggers False Camera Service Alerts

Tesla owners running the latest Full Self-Driving (Supervised) update have noticed an unexpected and persistent headache on their center screens. After updating to version 14.3.9, drivers across the fleet are reporting frequent alerts warning of dirty front-facing FSD cameras and demanding service visits, even when the windshield glass and camera housing are completely spotless.

Thankfully, hardware isn’t to blame, and if you’re seeing this message on FSD v14.3.9, your camera isn’t actually dirty. Highlighting the problem on X, user @CARN0N shared confirmation from a Tesla Support representative that these alerts are being caused by a software bug Tesla is aware of.

The Bug Behind the Warnings

The issue surfaced right after Tesla rolled out FSD v14.3.9 earlier this month. While the release introduced Tesla’s new Automatic Collision Evasion feature, it also brought an overzealous vision encoder bug.

The software appears to hyper-sensitize the neural network’s camera visibility checks, falsely reading minor sun glare or regular optical conditions as a dirty camera that needs to be cleaned. In the car, this triggers an on-screen warning demanding increased attention while FSD is engaged and camera service.

Tapping into the Camera Visibility diagnostic screen shows an even more specific message pointing directly to the forward-facing windshield unit: “Poor camera visibility detected. Interior windshield residue cleaning is required.” Under normal circumstances, drivers who see this message should schedule a service appointment or clean the camera themselves (which isn’t as easy as Tesla would like it to be).

What You Should Do If You See the Alert

Because it’s a software issue that’s triggering the message, you don’t need to pry off the windshield camera housing or book a service appointment. In fact, Tesla Service is already proactively canceling scheduled cleaning visits for affected customers, sending messages stating that service isn’t required because the alert stems from a known bug.

If you’re dealing with these alerts on FSD v14.3.9, the best move right now is simple patience. Tesla should roll out a fix for the underlying issue causing these false warnings in an upcoming update.

For owners who already paid for an interior windshield cleaning at a service center before this bug was widely identified — only to watch the warning reappear on the drive home — reach out directly to Tesla Support. Service advisors will likely issue credits or refunds once Tesla establishes standardized internal guidance for this issue.

Earlier this week, Tesla started rolling out FSD v14.3.10. However, it currently remains unknown if the update fixes this issue since the release notes are the same as FSD v14.3.9. That said, reports of false camera cleaning alerts remain limited to v14.3.9 so far. We’ll know more once the FSD v14.3.10 update starts making its way to affected users.

Tesla FSD (Supervised) Approved for Launch in Czechia

Tesla’s European FSD expansion is picking up serious momentum as another country joins the fold. The Czech Republic has officially cleared Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) platform for use on public roads, opening the door for owners in Central Europe to finally experience the feature.

The confirmation came directly from Tesla Europe on X, where the regional division noted that FSD will begin rolling out in Czechia soon.

The green light makes Czechia the seventh EU nation to authorize customer operation of FSD (Supervised), arriving just a couple of weeks after Slovenia broke a two-month-long dry spell in European FSD approvals as the sixth country in the region to welcome the software.

FSD Snowballs in Europe

The Czech Republic now joins a growing European club alongside the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Belgium, and Slovenia.

These rapid, individual approvals rely on national exemptions. Rather than waiting for a single, unified regulation from the European Commission, member states have been individually adopting the framework established by Dutch vehicle regulator RDW earlier this spring. By recognizing the Dutch type-approval locally, transport authorities can clear customer testing within their borders while broader EU-wide decisions proceed on a separate track.

As for an EU-wide approval for FSD, there’s a vote scheduled for later this fall. While several other European countries, like Italy, are nearing decisions to approve FSD independently in the meantime, some member nations, like France and Sweden, are actively opposing a bloc-wide rollout over FSD’s Speed Offset feature, which can lead it to ignore posted speed limits in some cases.

Globally, the software continues to widen its footprint. Between North America, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and now Europe, FSD has expanded across 15 countries.

FSD is also proving its worth in markets that have accepted it. For example, Tesla recently revealed that FSD reduced road accidents by 40% in Australia and New Zealand over its first year of availability.

What Owners in Czechia Should Expect

Despite the name, FSD remains classified as an SAE Level 2 advanced driver-assistance feature. Drivers must keep their eyes on the road, keep their hands at the ready to take over at any moment, and remain fully responsible for the car at all times. In-cabin cameras enforce strict attentiveness, issuing progressive visual alerts and audio chimes if attention drifts.

When customer downloads begin in Czechia, vehicles will receive a localized European build of FSD v14. The regional variant incorporates speed limits, lane-change protocols, and roundabout behaviors specifically calibrated to meet European road conventions. The initial rollout will target Hardware 4 vehicles first, while Hardware 3 owners will have to wait for Tesla to launch FSD v14 Lite in Europe.

With Czechia on board and more European transport ministries reviewing applications, Tesla is steadily proving its vision-only system across the continent. Expect FSD v14 to start rolling out to Czech drivers in the coming weeks.
