Tesla is offering free Supercharging to help residents in the Florida Panhandle recover from Hurricane Isaias. The official @TeslaCharging account announced on X that charging will be free from October 13 through October 18 at three Supercharger locations in the region hit hardest by the storm.

The free Supercharging offer applies at these Florida locations:

Tesla also shared charging tips ahead of the storm last week, advising owners to charge to 100% if charging at home (you should normally only charge to 80% for maximum battery longevity). You can check live Supercharger availability on your vehicle’s touchscreen or in the Tesla app. Tesla also said its focus will shift to restoration after the storm, and it’s prepared to deploy mobile Superchargers powered by Megapacks where charging access is most affected.

Hurricane Isaias Aftermath

Isaias made landfall near Destin as a Category 2 hurricane on Friday night, leaving at least four people dead across Alabama and Florida. Power outages topped 500,000 customers across Florida, Alabama, and Georgia after landfall. Nearly 396,000 customers in the Florida Panhandle and southern Alabama were still without power early Sunday.

This isn’t the first time Tesla has stepped in during a disaster. Earlier this summer, it offered free Supercharging to all EVs for wildfire relief in France and Spain. Musk’s other companies help out too, with SpaceX regularly deploying Starlink to restore communications in disaster-stricken areas when ground-based networks go down.

With crews still working to restore power across the region, Tesla could extend the relief window or add more locations if outages drag on past October 18. Tesla’s Supercharger network recently topped 85,000 stalls across 9,000 locations globally.
