Tesla Launches Model Y L Accessories in the U.S.

Tesla has launched its official Model Y L vehicle accessories in the U.S., adding cabin ornaments like liners, dedicated hardware like roof racks, and more ahead of deliveries.

Tesla is already setting up new owners to kit out their Model Y Ls as the first customer handoffs inch closer. The three-row, six-seat Model Y L officially made its way to the U.S. earlier this summer, and the first wave of deliveries is slated to begin hitting American driveways later this month.

When the longer-wheelbase Model Y variant first debuted in China and then rolled into Australia, New Zealand, and other Asia-Pacific markets, Tesla introduced an assortment of tailored parts built specifically for the larger cabin dimensions. Now, most of those products have officially landed on the U.S. Tesla Shop, letting order holders stock up on hardware before their vehicles arrive.

Early reservation holders will also benefit from pre-bundled perks, as initial Model Y L orders include the Launch Series package right out of the gate. We previously shared a list of Model Y L accessories Tesla was expected to release in the U.S. Most of these items are now available, including:

All-Weather Liners

Sunshades

Door Sill Guards

Tesla has also introduced All-Weather Rear Door Sill Guards to protect from dirt and other debris when stepping in and out of the vehicle. A pair of sill guards for the rear doors costs $95.

Trunk Storage Bins

For down below in the rear cargo wells, Tesla is offering custom-molded Trunk Storage Bins for $80. The package includes water-resistant left and right injection-molded thermoplastic inserts designed to hold wet muddy shoes, roadside tools, or dirty gear. Each bin comes with a matching carpeted lid that sits completely flush with the trunk floor to preserve flat cargo space.

Some of the Model Y L accessories we previously believed would remain exclusive to China for a little while longer (since they aren’t even available in Australia yet) have also made their way over to the U.S. These include:

Model Y L Roof Rack ($500)

Because the stretched roofline alters attachment points, the Model Y L gets its own dedicated crossbar system engineered from the ground up for minimal wind turbulence and low interior cabin noise.

Priced at $500, the rack is rated for a 165-pound load capacity. The aluminum crossbars feature integrated T-slots for mounting bike racks, ski carriers, and rooftop cargo boxes. The assembly uses die-cast towers equipped with integrated security key locks, designed for easy DIY installation without drilling.

Owners looking to maximize the Model Y L’s EPA-rated range of 332 miles (on the stock 19-inch wheels) will appreciate the aerodynamic shape of the rack.

Model Y L Car Cover ($195)

For drivers parking outdoors, the official fitted car cover runs $195. It features a three-layer composite build: two outer layers of woven polyester paired with a middle breathable thermoplastic polyurethane membrane to keep water out.

The cover includes reinforced grommets for running security tie cables, a soft interior fleece lining to protect the paint, and dedicated charge port access flaps with mesh panels so cooling fans can breathe while charging.

Parcel Shelf ($125)

To keep valuables out of view behind the third row, Tesla is offering a retractable Model Y L Parcel Shelf for $125. The cargo cover clips into two included magnetic side-mounting brackets, shielding groceries from direct sunlight and cutting down on luggage rattle while cruising on the highway.

Cross-Compatible Essentials

While these new items cater directly to the longer chassis, several standard Model Y accessories carry over seamlessly to the larger Model Y L. Popular add-ons like front trunk ambient lighting strips, illuminated door sill puddle projectors, lumbar pillows, frunk bins, and front console organizers remain completely compatible between both body styles. Tesla also offers a vehicle-to-load (V2L) power adapter that works with both the Model Y and Model Y L.

Accessories That Didn’t Make It

Unfortunately, some of the Model Y L accessories Tesla has launched in international markets that we expected to also be available in the U.S. are currently nowhere to be found. These include privacy shades for the side windows and a dedicated air mattress for the Model Y L. Tesla’s air mattresses are crafted to match each vehicle’s contours for a perfect fit, and a tailor-made version for the Model Y L isn’t available as of yet.

With official accessories now live on the store, Model Y L reservation holders can secure their road trip gear just in time for delivery day.
