Tesla has set the date for its 2026 Annual Shareholder Meeting. The meeting takes place on Thursday, December 3, at 3:00 p.m. CT at Giga Texas in Austin, under the theme “Building a World of Amazing Abundance.”

Tesla announced the meeting on X, asking shareholders to vote in favor of all three proposals on the ballot. “Your vote is critical to helping us maintain that momentum,” Tesla wrote, adding that voting instructions and control numbers will follow soon.

What’s on the Ballot

The headline item is Proposal One: re-electing Tesla’s three Class I Directors, Elon Musk, Board Chair Robyn Denholm, and JB Straubel. In a letter to shareholders, the Board asked investors to vote with its recommendations on all proposals, “most importantly, the re-election of our Class I Directors.”

On its new shareholder meeting website, Tesla calls Musk the architect of its transformation and highlights Denholm’s nearly 30 years of executive leadership. It also points to Straubel’s decade-plus at the heart of Tesla’s technology and battery development. Tesla hasn’t detailed the other two proposals on the site yet.

Tesla’s Pitch to Shareholders

Last year’s meeting, held November 6, 2025, centered on Tesla’s new mission of “Sustainable Abundance”, shifting its focus from accelerating sustainable energy to building a post-scarcity future. Shareholders also approved Elon Musk’s historic trillion-dollar pay package and restored his 2018 deal. This year’s theme of “Amazing Abundance” builds on that vision.

Tesla’s website lays out what it has achieved as of late. It has delivered over 10 million vehicles, scaling production 10x in six years, and launched the Cybercab, with more than 300 now operating in Austin and rides expected to launch soon in Dallas. Tesla also expanded its Robotaxi service to seven U.S. cities, and FSD (Supervised) now has nearly 1.5 million paid customers and over 15 billion cumulative miles driven.

On the energy side, Tesla has deployed more than 130 GWh of storage and started producing the new Megapack 3 in Texas. It recently also opened its Semi factory in Nevada, started building a high-volume Optimus line in Fremont, and launched its Terafab initiative with SpaceX to start producing AI chips in-house.

How to Attend in Person

Seating at Giga Texas is limited, so Tesla is using a random drawing to pick which shareholders can attend. The deadline to enter is Friday, November 6, at 11:59 p.m. CT, and Tesla expects to start notifying selected attendees the week of November 16. You can enter the lottery on Tesla’s official annual shareholder meeting website.

If you’re selected, you’ll need valid government-issued ID to confirm your identity, and your spot can’t be transferred to anyone else.

How to Join the Virtual Meeting

Anyone can watch the public livestream, but shareholders of record as of October 13, 2026, can also join the virtual meeting to vote and submit written comments. To log in, you’ll need your 16-digit control number.

If your shares are registered directly with Tesla’s transfer agent, Computershare, your control number is on the Notice of Internet Availability or paper proxy card you received. If you hold shares through a broker, check the voting instruction form your broker sends you.

What to Expect

For many, the main draw is the presentation and Q&A with Musk and other Tesla executives, which usually offers the clearest look at Tesla’s product roadmap. Expect updates on Cybercab, FSD, Optimus, and Semi, plus possibly more on the recently unveiled Roadster.

We’ll share how to watch the livestream closer to December 3, along with full coverage of the Q&A session and everything announced.
