Discuss: GM Embraces Tesla's Charging Connector: The North American Charging Standard Is Now True to Its Name

I'm super happy that the infrastructure companies are on-board with the NACS charging plug, but I'm not convinced it will actually help anything. Sure, the CCS form factor is bad, but the biggest challenge with non-Tesla charging stations has been payment and process. They insist on building...

Discuss: GM Embraces Tesla's Charging Connector: The North American Charging Standard Is Now True to Its Name

As has been said multiple times in recent days, the American version of CCS (v1) isn't compatible with the rest of the world's CCS (v2) anyway. In order to follow "the rest of the world" we would have to change the connector anyway; why not go with something much (MUCH) better!? Besides, Tesla...

Discuss: GM Embraces Tesla's Charging Connector: The North American Charging Standard Is Now True to Its Name

I used CCS while on a trip to England and I really hated it. The connector was difficult to handle and the payment issues were terrible. The one time I used a Tesla Supercharger was a bit better, but it was still more difficult to use than NACS. As for placement, manufacturers could put the...

Discuss: 2023.20.4.1 Official Tesla Release Notes

Ok, why are the "tire service" updates not applied to the legacy MX, MS? There shouldn't be anything special about the update to require new sensors or anything. Have Tesla just given up on updating my 2020 MX for even simple things?

Discuss: FSD Beta 11.3.6 (2023.12.10) Official Tesla Release Notes

Ok, I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by this. I was happy to get 11.4.2 the other day, then I realized that 11.3.6 is actually based on a more recent release. Madness! I can only hope that at some point soon, the FSD and non-FSD releases get merged into a single code base. Keeping...

Discuss: Tesla and Ford Forge New Partnership: Ford To Incorporate Tesla Charge Port (NACS) in Future EVs

Ford doesn't have it's own charge network; the "BlueOval Charge Network" is just a reference to all the CSS1 chargers in the U.S. So, it includes all the chargers from Electrify America, EVGo, ChargePoint, etc. :(

Discuss - Ford Adopts NACS In Future EVs

I think the only downside to this decision is over crowding of Superchargers. However, I think this situation will only be temporary for a couple of reasons. First, the additional funding (from the government) as well as the additional income will prompt Tesla to increase the Supercharger...

Discuss - Ford Adopts NACS In Future EVs

Ford EV Customers To Gain Access to 12,000 Tesla Superchargers; Company to Add North American Charging Standard Port in Future EVs It looks like Ford is the first traditional car manufacturer to adopt the NACS. I see this as a big win for both Ford and Tesla. Tesla can now get some of the...

Discuss: First Look at Tesla's 'Drive on Sunshine' Feature That Will Charge Your Tesla With Excess Solar Energy

I wonder if this will allow anyone, even those without solar or PowerWall to get in on the action. I'm guessing it won't but it would be interesting.

Discuss: Tesla Releases FSD Beta 11.4: What's New

Speak of the devil - https://www.notateslaapp.com/community/threads/discuss-musk-comments-on-tesla-fsd-beta-11-4-1-as-anticipation-builds-for-public-release.1115/

Discuss: Tesla Releases FSD Beta 11.4: What's New

Agreed. According to TeslaFI the number of installs of 11.4 is 0% - that doesn't seem good. Are they still only testing internally or something?

Discuss: Tesla Releases FSD Beta 11.4: What's New

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. It might be because I'm on a 2020 MX but the FSD beta option is always available to me.

Discuss: Tesla Releases FSD Beta 11.4: What's New

I think the Rear Camera staying on is only when you're reversing. Currently, the rear camera comes on when you switch to reverse, but you can override it and display something else (radio, climate control, etc.) This update forces the rear camera to stay on so. Honestly, that's probably a...

Discuss: Tesla Releases FSD Beta 11.4: What's New

[ NOTE: I'm a new FSD owner ] On a related note, will we get new non-FSD features (ie. new Manual application, Reverse Camera staying on, new version of Chrome browser, etc.) with the 11.4 release? What I mean is since FSD 11.4 is based on 2023.6.15 it seems like we should get those updates as...

    Autowipers (Beta)

I just took ownership of a 2020 MY that I love, but the auto-wipers behavior is maddening. In my 2020 MY the auto-wipers were great. I basically kept them on all the time and never even though about the windshield wipers; they basically did what I expected them to. So, when I got my MX and...

Rivian and the NACS (North American Charging Standard)

Oh, darn, I didn't think about that. Where is the Rivian charge port? Hopefully it's somewhere accessible. Then again, maybe the new v4 Supercharger stations will have longer cables. And/Or the "Rivian" Supercharger stations could be reworked a bit to allow for trailers and such. A "normal"...

Rivian and the NACS (North American Charging Standard)

Watching MKBHD talk about the Rivian R1S this morning I noticed that he mentioned that Rivian is really coming along; building trucks, building SUVs, and building out their charging network. At that moment I wished that Rivian had partnered with Tesla to use the NACS (re: Tesla connector). It...

Discuss: 2023.12 Official Tesla Release Notes

I can't wait for a larger font size! I'm tired of squinting at the temperature (or radio) to get the valuable information I need to live my life. Seriously though, My 2020 MY is still on 2023.2.12 - when am I gonna get an upgrade?!?!?!

Discuss: Tesla Gears Up to Launch Powerwall 3: A Sleeker, More Efficient Home Battery

I think it would be interesting if the form factor changed from a "wall" to a more of a cuboid. If it was weatherproof, then you could install it outside on a pad, similar to an A/C condenser.
