Discuss: 2024.8.4 Official Tesla Release Notes

"View or Reset Tire Mileage" Awww come on! Why can't the legacy MX / MS vehicles get these features? What's so special about the new platform that we can't track our tire wear as well!? I love how Tesla constantly updates/adds features but it feels uneven at times. I mean, I have a luxury...

    FSD Ver. 12 Rollout Restart

It looks like 2023.44.30.25 was on a real tear over the weekend but the push has slowed down somewhat today. Maybe they are pushing v12.3 into the 2024.x branch or something. 🤞 NOTE: I'm currently running 2024.2.7 so I'm not sure how a "downgrade" to 2023.44.30.25 would even work.

Discuss: Tesla Expected to Release 'Actually Smart Summon' and 'Tap to Park' Updates Next Month

I wonder if this will also "fix" the Falcon Wing Doors doors on the refreshed MX cars. As I understand it the refreshed cars don't have all the sensors that the legacy MX vehicles do and the FWD have to rely on camera information to avoid obstacles. This is one reason that I like my 2020 MX...

    FSD Ver. 12 Rollout Restart

Well, it looks like 2023.44.30.25 is really on a roll-out. It's already up to 1% of the fleet, according to the statistics page. 🎉

Discuss: Tesla Update 2024.8 Brings New Menus for WiFi and Bluetooth; Changes to Turn Signal Icons and Hold Mode

I'm very happy to see the turn signals get clarified. I sometimes have a hard time determining which turn signal is on at a glance, especially if the display is dark.

Discuss: 2024.8 Official Tesla Release Notes

Ooooo... I like that "One-Time Charge" option; it's a simple feature that would really come in handy. And come on USA lighting regulations - step into the 20th century!

Discuss: 2023.44.30.25 (FSD Beta v12.3) Release Notes

You know, after all this time I'm super afraid that I will be disappointed. I mean, I've built it up in my head to be pretty good and I'm not sure v12 can live up to my vision. Also, I'm kinda scared that it will require v4 hardware and my 2020 MX will not be sufficient. 😱

Discuss: Tesla's FSD Beta 12.2.1 Update is Rolling out to Employees, Hinting at Full Deployment

I'm not really expecting it to be perfect (I don't think that will ever happen) but I do want to get my hands on it to give it a try. All the videos I'm seeing of v12 are AMAZING and even with it's flaws it's miles ahead of v11.

Discuss: Rivian R2 Specs: The Leak That's Got Tesla's Fanbase Curious

Oh, and it looks like Rivian screwed this up on the R2/R3. The connector is on the rear passenger. Arrrggghhh!!! 😡

Discuss: Rivian R2 Specs: The Leak That's Got Tesla's Fanbase Curious

I just watched Marques' video on the new Rivian offerings and they look really good. I mean REALLY good! I especially liked the "outdoor" things they added; camp mode turns all the screens red to help keep your night vision, you can fold down ALL the seats to make room for an air mattress, and...

Discuss: Tesla Set to Unveil Front Bumper Camera and Ambient Lights for Model S/X

Actually, I was just reading something that said the wiring and capabilities for a front bumper camera and ambient lights is built into every MX made after June 2021. So, even a not quite so new MX should be able to be retrofitted with those things ... as long as you can pay for it. 🤑

Discuss: Tesla Set to Unveil Front Bumper Camera and Ambient Lights for Model S/X

Well, it looks like I'll be pausing my non-existent purchase of a new MX. One more reason to keep my money in my bank account instead of in Tesla's pocket. :D In a couple of years though, after I get my 2020 MX paid off, I'll be bellying up to the bar to get me some new MX goodness!

2024.2.6 Loss of cameras and associated functions

Looks like 2024.2.7 and 2024.2.8 are being released in earnest. I have a big drive coming up next week; I guess I should hold of on updating to the 2024.x.y series for a bit.

Discuss: Tesla Cybertruck's High-Profile Auction Sale Underlines Strict Contractual Resale Conditions

I'm not sure how such a document can be enforceable. Can a manufacturer prevent you from re-selling something that they sold you? What if this was a computer, or a couch, or a TV? I'm not sure it's legal to even sign away your rights like that, at least in the US. Sure, they can put...

Discuss: The Road Not Taken: Apple's Missed Chance on Tesla's Electric Dream

I think it highlights the uphill battle that traditional auto manufacturers are going to face in the near future. Building EVs is significantly different that I'm not sure any traditional manufacture will make it out alive. Sure Porsche, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, etc. will be fine and probably do...

3 updates I would really like

I have this same problem. I don't like the cold air blowing on me but if I turn off the A/C then the windows can fog up.

Discuss: Tesla's FSD Beta 12.2.1 Update is Rolling out to Employees, Hinting at Full Deployment

Unfortunately, I think you're right that 2023.44.30.20 has stalled. Looking at the latest stats there hasn't been any new installs for the last 3 days. I wonder if they found something or if they are just staging super slowly. Maybe there is a 44.30.21 on the horizon. What?! I can wish...

Discuss: Tesla Targets Sentry Mode Vampire Drain: Upcoming Update to Slash Power Use by 40%

I charge my MX to 80% while at home but I've noticed that it has 77% state of charge when I wake up in the morning. I'm not sure what is draining it or why the charger doesn't kick in and top it off. Maybe this change will help?

Discuss: Tesla FSD Beta v12 Auto Parks, Completes U-Turns, But Removes Traffic-Aware Cruise Control Ability

I'm blown away by the smoothness of the whole thing. Currently, doing something like this would have the steering wheel jerking all over the place and making me sea-sick in the car. v12 turns and handles things almost the same way I would. I'm super excited to give this a try and hoping that...
