Today happened something I didn't like, quite dangerous. I didn't engage autopilot for the whole drive, and going upwards on a hill, I started seeing autopilot warnings without a reason, and as soon as I reached the threshold speed it engaged by itself, and I had to brake. I will report this as...

Tried it. Today I used it quite a few times. One time, coupled with kickdown, I ended up 170kmh (105mph) without noticing. Works very well, never had the dreaded red steering wheel. Also very handy that when I change lanes it reconnects autopilot automatically. Basically makes the extended...

Yes I haven't tried it yet, but that alone is worth the price. Countless times I accelerate with the pedal because a car invaded my lane or attempted a slow takeover, and I wished that Tesla autopilot either acted as a max speed limiter or simply disengaged (one of my first posts probably). They...

Actually, I'm always on Chill and configured the left scroll for quick toggle. Commander's default threshold is allegedly 95%, however I noticed that it engages much earlier, and I can easily tell as the led strip becomes red when STD is engaged. I had to set it to 100% as engagement threshold...

Anyway commander does crazy things, like long pressing door levers to open frunk and open/unlock the charge port. The latter is very "handy" when you don't use Tesla chargers. I sent them most of my ideas on the wishlist, let's see what they come up with.

Honestly the Buttons themselves aren't of much use if you have the Knob. I wish I'd started with the commander alone. It already does many things standalone. Many of the feature it offers don't even require buttons. I purchased 2 buttons, one I put on the back of the steering wheel, programmed...

This is doable with the latest Commander upgrade, except not dependent on the external temperature. However, better than nothing, as it can be turned on/off when seasons change - better than having to turn on manually all summer long.

I can confirm 100% that autopilot uses regen. Actually yesterday I realized that I didn't even need to try it. When I was driving downhill on autopilot on the highway, I recall even the % rising by a percentage point, other than seeing the green bar.

Ah so no sound? Indeed, would have been useful.

Actually I was thinking to ask them if they could use the vibration for silent navigator notifications :) Other nice things: commander can link the autopilot states to ambient lighting. Even blinking with the NAG. It allows silencing the speed warning automatically. One of my biggest...

Sure. Meanwhile have a look at the specs, their website is very comprehensive. Oddly, it started with the "buttons", which I have mixed feelings about, but the knob (and hopefully the stalks) are a game changer. Certainly I didn't buy the kit to open the glovebox with a button (don't think I...

Exactly, I was surprised to find that Autopilot Penalty Prevention. A bliss for me. I often get red flagged when I "expedite" an acceleration after the car detects someone inadvertently entering my lane, etc. and always wondered why the hell can't just Tesla either disengage (like Commander...

Have to say that the new auto-shift works quite well. Doesn't always engage when it should, but when it does it seems to make sense. Hope it doesn't engage when it shouldn't :)

Have to say that most of my requested updates (and more) are covered by installing the Commander. I just installed it along with the knob and I can say I'm impressed. Waiting for the left stalk!

Really? I don't have FSD but on basic I have the feeling it's using regen primarily, actually i do hit brakes when an emergency halt is required and I feel the difference.

Steering wheel vibration when navigation is silent If a Tesla is a smartphone on wheels, why don't we get the possibility of replacing voice guidance with vibration, instead of silencing it all the way? At least when a long time passes on highways between two directions, being gently nudged by a...
