Discuss: Tesla Introduces 5G Modem; Speeds Up to 1000 Mbps

Ah, so that's why there's a cut out in that beam. I hope the whole computer system is as future proof as the modem. This is also a good time for me to mention my concern again- These cars *rely* on connectivity. Tesla doesn't own any of the cell networks, and in certain areas they are NOT all...

Discuss: Tesla VP Confirms Model S & Model X Refresh Later This Year

Good listen if you have time for it. Lars really comes across as down to earth as well as driven. A rare combo :)

Reproducible Safety Risk in Tesla FSD v13 During Unprotected Left Turns

Check out Chuck Cook on YouTube, he does UPL videos frequently. That would be a good place to post your observations too.

Discuss: Tesla Introduces New Model Y Variants in Europe; Ends Launch Series

This should be a sign of things to come. I'm curious about the math. Particularly the range & power consumption numbers. I *think* for me to get the rated range in my 2024 LR Y I need to use only 240 Wh/mile. This new Y is more efficient but when I do the math it comes out to 246 Wh/mile. Am I...

Discuss: Tesla FSD v12.6.4 / FSD v13.2.8 (Update 2024.45.32.20) Release Notes

Yeah, let us know if you figure anything out like that. I'm hoping it fixes (at least) the signaling too early for turns in town here. It looks like I'm gonna turn a block ahead of where the car wants to turn.

Discuss: Tesla’s 500kW Superchargers Set to Launch in Q3 2025

That’s great, even if it is another coming soon type of announcement. It does seem like Tesla chargers have delivered on solid charging experience at very good instal cost. Peak rates are only just that - peak. Charging curves are probably more important, then after that total capacity of the...

Discuss: Tesla Cybertruck Earns 5-Star Safety Rating in NHTSA Crash Tests

Fantastic. Maybe not so fantastic for the thing you hit with a CT, or any big truck really. What is the before & after showing on that second pair of pics? The casting ones. Is that a change in the casting or the change after an impact? Since the sticker isn't in the second pic I'm guessing it's...

Discuss: Smart Assistant 'Grok' Coming to Tesla, Demo of Grok 3 Tonight

But it is reliant on connectivity, right? Seems to me that AT&T (here in the US) is the weak link in the Tesla experience in that it's not controlled by Tesla and can be spotty here in the mountains of AZ. I wonder if Tesla will do something about that in the near future... I guess they would...

Discuss: Tesla VP Confirms Adaptive Headlights Coming to All Models Soon – “The Hard Part is Over”

I’ve recently seen a few short videos purporting to be a 2024 build showing adaptive headlights. I’m guessing those are from other countries? They were on the right side of the road but I couldn’t read signs to see where they might be.

Discuss: 2025.2.6 Official Tesla Release Notes

Hand's free trunk opening for Android is listed twice in a row on the original post. I guess that's a big deal :) . All of that is good news. I'm curious about the radar and rear seats as that's where the child seat would be (for alerts on leaving a kid in the car). This isn't your grandpa's...

Discuss: Tesla Updates App: Adds Robotaxi Code, New Model Y Models and New Tesla Service UI

I guess this shows some confidence or just optimism in that CyberCab coming soon to select markets.

Discuss: Tesla FSD v12.6.3 / FSD v13.2.7 (Update 2024.45.32.15) Release Notes

That CT crash could be BS... who knows at this point. As for 12.6.3- I've seen people mention recalibrating the cameras helped, but not sure if it helps with nav issues. I think the routing is a bit wonky at this point. 13.2.7 just went out and it still signals too soon for turns but it DID stop...

Discuss: Tesla Launches Full Self-Driving in Mexico

I can't imagine getting FSD to work here, never mind getting it to work worldwide. Good luck!

Hopefully that'll all be fixed SOON.

Discuss: Tesla's New Model Y To Have Adaptive Headlights at Launch

Huh, pretty sure Lars said that Tesla cars have had in cabin radar for a few years now. Is that the same as the HD radar? Ditto goes for the headlights, can’t wait for them to get activated or whatever the proper term is.

Discuss: Tesla FSD v12.6.3 / FSD v13.2.7 (Update 2024.45.32.15) Release Notes

I'm wondering if the CT that crashed on FSD has anything to do with this latest update being delayed. It SHOULD. Fix that bug.

Discuss: Tesla Starts Underwriting Its Own Insurance: Will They Insure Their Own Robotaxis?

Makes sense IMO. Not only that- if they're gonna sell FSD then Tesla SHOULD take responsibility just like if someone else if driving your car.

Discuss: Tesla FSD v12.6.3 / FSD v13.2.7 (Update 2024.45.32.15) Release Notes

Good deal! We went (from Prescott) to Sedona and back on Saturday and the only thing I had to do with 13.2.2 was occasionally adjust from chill to standard. That and drop the speed to 50 as we went charging into a 45 from a 55 at 60MPH.

Discuss: New Tesla Model Y Adds 4D Radar; Calls 911 If Child Left Behind, Increases Safety

I gotta say, that 4D radar sounds kinda insane. Is it really radar or is it some kind of lidar? Radar (back when I used it) was pretty rudimentary and was only good for the closest or largest target. That's why I always poo-poo'd those who thought radar on cars was so great. I hope you guys can...

    FSD 13.2 videos

Black Tesla (on YT) has a 13.2.7 video up. I'm only 4 minutes into it but it already ran through a speed bump that shouldn't have happened.
