Discuss: Goodyear Unveils New Tires, ElectricDrive 2, What it Offers Tesla Owners

I replaced the stock tires on my 2020 MY with Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires and I really liked them. I was thinking that I would replace my MX tires (when they need it) with the CC2 as well, but with all the "EV" tires coming to market I wonder if that's a good idea.

Discuss: Why Tesla Updates Stopping for Model 3 and Y to Feature Hold Mode Exclusively

I wonder if they figured out that very few people actually use the Creep/Roll feature and removing it would save code and testing/validation time.

The Most Popular Tesla Custom Lock Sounds - Classic Video Games Edition

These are great and almost make me wish that I had PWS on my car.

Discuss: Tesla Updates Range for 3 Vehicles and Introduces New Model Y Color Package

Hmmm... so Tesla is software limiting existing cars to more closely match EPA numbers? Will my 2020 MX have less range than it did before the update? This seems troubling and I hope I'm misunderstanding the update.

Discuss: Tesla Model 3 Highland May Be Announced This Month for North America; Performance Variant Underway

Actually, that's one of the downsides of owning a Tesla; they keep improving them too quickly. The next one is always so much better! It's kinda like buying any high end electronic thing. New video card? The one coming out next week is better and cheaper. New computer? Oh, the next one is...

Discuss: Tesla Vehicle Sales Up 38%, but BYD Emerges As New EV Leader

Hmmm... that may be the case, but does that mean that Ford, Chevy, etc. win or does it merely delay their death? Honestly, I'm not sure the respective governments would actually let their automakers fail. Would Germany let VW fail? We've already seen the lengths that the US government would...

Discuss: Tesla Vehicle Sales Up 38%, but BYD Emerges As New EV Leader

I have no doubt that BYD (and other China manufacturers) are going to eat our lunch when it comes to EVs. I think only Tesla really stands a chance against them to provide general purpose EVs. Ford, Chevy, VW, etc. have a very long, steep hill to climb and I'm not sure they'll make it...

Discuss: Tesla Improves Performance for Tesla Theater and Dashcam Apps, Adds More Informative Icon Badges

Excellent! I was just complaining about the YouTube performance the other day. I was trying to show someone a music video in my car (while we waited for the store to open) and it didn't play well at all. In fact, I was quite embarrassed that this nice, expensive Tesla couldn't even play a...

Discuss: Videos and Images of the Best Features in Tesla’s 2023 Holiday Update (2023.44.30.4)

I don't think the new map icons work on the "legacy' vehicles. I have a 2020 MX and I don't see traffic lights / speed camera icons either.

Discuss: 2023.44.25 Official Tesla Release Notes

I just got an update from 44.30.4 to 44.30.6. There must have been something bad in 30.4 to update it 2 days later. 🤔 I haven't tried FSD yet. These comments are kinda making me scared to attempt it.

Discuss: 2023.44.25 Official Tesla Release Notes

Well, it looks like the Traffic Lights / Speed Cameras functionality doesn't work for "legacy" vehicles. My 2020 MX doesn't have them, unless I'm missing something somewhere. ☹️

Ok, I'm still waiting on the update. I'm running 2023.27.7 and have no idea what version I'm going to end up on. Is it 2023.44.30.x or 2023.44.1 or even 2023.28.x.x? Argggghhh!!!! 😆

Discuss: Tesla Confirms They're Working on Wireless, Inductive Home Charging

I don't think I would like to use wireless charging but it might come in handy for someone like my wife who just doesn't want to deal with plugging and un-plugging things. Plus, she doesn't drive a ton so it wouldn't really matter if it was a bit slower. Hopefully it's not to inefficient...

Discuss: Tesla Removes Disney+ App From Vehicles - Here's How to Get It Back

I confirmed that I still have the Disney+ app on my 2020 MX so this doesn't really affect me. NOTE: While testing the feature I did notice that the playback was not especially smooth. This, in combination with my YouTube playback troubles, makes me think that the MCU2 in the legacy vehicles...

Discuss: Tesla Removes Disney+ App From Vehicles - Here's How to Get It Back

Ok, the decision to remove an app because a CEO is feuding with another CEO is petty and ridiculous. I've been ignoring Musk's antics for the most part but this goes a bit too far, IMHO. I don't want my car's functionality to be impacted by some advertiser somewhere making a decision Musk...

Discuss: Tesla Explains Why the Tesla App Wants Access to 'Motion & Fitness Activity'

This actually sounds like a reasonable thing. My understanding is that thieves can/do use a relay attack to steal cars. If your phone knows that you are not moving around and so can not be approaching the car, then it can shut down those attacks. However, there is a privacy concern with...
