Model Y Hardware 4 vs Hardware 3: Night Edition

The v4 videos look much more clear (both night and day) and color accurate. The nighttime views are much more "sunburst" in the v3 shots than the v4 shots. I wonder if that's due to the lens, or maybe the hardware is better at filtering out the spikes. 🤷‍♂️

    Dropping FSDv11.4.4 to get 2023.20.7 wFSD11.3.6.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I would like to get the newer "base" features rather than the latest FSD updates, but I'm not sure how to do it. I keep waiting for the FSD programs to become unified and follow the non-FSD updates but it hasn't happened yet. :(

Discuss: Tesla Takes a Hit, Rivian Acquires ABRP, Amping Up Competition

Quite a few people really like the ABRP planner and the options it provides. It might not be better than the Tesla planner (IMHO) but it''s probably better than offerings from other manufacturers. This seems like a win-win for Rivian and ABRP and a loss for everyone else (except Tesla).

Discuss: Tesla To Add Official Support for Third-Party Services and Apps

!UPDATE! It looks like Telsa has released some code for this exact purpose. Maybe this is real! https://github.com/teslamotors/fleet-telemetry

Discuss: Tesla To Add Official Support for Third-Party Services and Apps

The way this usually works is that you generate a "key" and grant that key permissions. In this case it would probably work something like this: Sign into your Tesla.com account Create an API key, which is just a really big number or series of letters Grant permissions to that key: Allow -...

Discuss: Tesla To Add Official Support for Third-Party Services and Apps

This is HUGE and I can't wait for it to happen. I would like to use some 3rd party app (TeslaFi, etc.) but I really don't want to give them unfettered access to my Tesla account. With this update, Tesla could allow me to grant TeslaFI read-only access to the car statistics, without allowing...

Discuss: FSD Beta 11.4.3 (2023.7.15) Official Tesla Release Notes

I was just talking with a Tesla service tech today about FSD wanting to move to the left (to pass slower cars) when your exit is only 0.3 miles away (or something stupid). I'm like "NO, don't move over, just stay here and wait for the exit!" But it doesn't listen to my screams. 😬

Also, why can't us "legacy" owners (is a 2020 really legacy!?) get in on these steering wheel heater updates!?!? 💢

Discuss: FSD Beta 11.4.3 (2023.7.15) Official Tesla Release Notes

My 2020 MX updated to 2023.7.15 a couple of days ago and I'm not seeing the "Reverse Camera" changes. I backed out of the driveway yesterday and was able to bring up Spotify which (annoyingly) removed the reverse camera view. I know this is a small change, but I think it would be great to lock...

Discuss: GM Embraces Tesla's Charging Connector: The North American Charging Standard Is Now True to Its Name

I'm super happy that the infrastructure companies are on-board with the NACS charging plug, but I'm not convinced it will actually help anything. Sure, the CCS form factor is bad, but the biggest challenge with non-Tesla charging stations has been payment and process. They insist on building...

Discuss: GM Embraces Tesla's Charging Connector: The North American Charging Standard Is Now True to Its Name

As has been said multiple times in recent days, the American version of CCS (v1) isn't compatible with the rest of the world's CCS (v2) anyway. In order to follow "the rest of the world" we would have to change the connector anyway; why not go with something much (MUCH) better!? Besides, Tesla...

Discuss: GM Embraces Tesla's Charging Connector: The North American Charging Standard Is Now True to Its Name

I used CCS while on a trip to England and I really hated it. The connector was difficult to handle and the payment issues were terrible. The one time I used a Tesla Supercharger was a bit better, but it was still more difficult to use than NACS. As for placement, manufacturers could put the...

Discuss: 2023.20.4.1 Official Tesla Release Notes

Ok, why are the "tire service" updates not applied to the legacy MX, MS? There shouldn't be anything special about the update to require new sensors or anything. Have Tesla just given up on updating my 2020 MX for even simple things?

Discuss: FSD Beta 11.3.6 (2023.12.10) Official Tesla Release Notes

Ok, I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by this. I was happy to get 11.4.2 the other day, then I realized that 11.3.6 is actually based on a more recent release. Madness! I can only hope that at some point soon, the FSD and non-FSD releases get merged into a single code base. Keeping...

Discuss: Tesla and Ford Forge New Partnership: Ford To Incorporate Tesla Charge Port (NACS) in Future EVs

Ford doesn't have it's own charge network; the "BlueOval Charge Network" is just a reference to all the CSS1 chargers in the U.S. So, it includes all the chargers from Electrify America, EVGo, ChargePoint, etc. :(

Discuss - Ford Adopts NACS In Future EVs

I think the only downside to this decision is over crowding of Superchargers. However, I think this situation will only be temporary for a couple of reasons. First, the additional funding (from the government) as well as the additional income will prompt Tesla to increase the Supercharger...

Discuss - Ford Adopts NACS In Future EVs

Ford EV Customers To Gain Access to 12,000 Tesla Superchargers; Company to Add North American Charging Standard Port in Future EVs It looks like Ford is the first traditional car manufacturer to adopt the NACS. I see this as a big win for both Ford and Tesla. Tesla can now get some of the...

Discuss: First Look at Tesla's 'Drive on Sunshine' Feature That Will Charge Your Tesla With Excess Solar Energy

Discuss: Tesla Releases FSD Beta 11.4: What's New

Agreed. According to TeslaFI the number of installs of 11.4 is 0% - that doesn't seem good. Are they still only testing internally or something?
