Discuss: Tesla to Remove Window Auto-Close Features Due to New Regulations

I think at one point they made sense, but not any more. Back in the day it was quite easy to roll a window up and smash fingers and arms. However, today's systems are so sophisticated that it's almost an impossibility today. Multiple systems would have to simultaneously fail in unique ways...

Discuss: Tesla to Remove Window Auto-Close Features Due to New Regulations

As far as I can tell this is a really old requirement (Jan 2017) and hasn't been updated since. Why is this coming up now? If I'm reading it rightly, this should/will affect many, many vehicles other than Tesla. Which car built in the last 5 years doesn't have one-push window close without...

Discuss: Terrifying Crash Demonstrates Tesla's Commitment to Safety

Wow, that Tesla at the bottom of the cliff is a sobering image. It's just one more reason that I love my MY; it's the safest car on the road.

Discuss: Tesla Rolls Out Its 2022 Holiday Update, Packed With New Features

I'm super happy with the GUI changes in this update. The 2021 Christmas update was ... ummm ... much less desirable and I was a little bit scared for this one. However, bringing back the "cards" was the right thing to do (IMHO) and I love the new mini music player. There are only two bugs...

leaving phone on charger by mistake...

When I first got my MY I left my phone on the charger and went into a store. Only after being in the store for several minutes did I realize what I had done. I nearly sprinted to the parking lot to retrieve my phone in a panic. Now, I just don't charge my phone in my car, unless I'm traveling...

Discuss: Tesla's Auto Cancel Turn Signals and How They Work

I'm actually enjoying the auto-cancel turn signals, much more than I thought I would. I'm usually pretty good at "lightly" clicking to change lanes or "deep" clicking for normal turns. However, since turning on auto-cancel I just hit the turn signal stalk hard every time and let the car figure...

Discuss: IRS Reveals Which Tesla Models Qualify for the 2023 U.S. Tax Credit

Is there any guidance on how to calculate the used vehicle tax credit? I'm looking at purchasing a used 2018 Model X and it would be sweet to get a little extra discount on the price.

Discuss: 2022.44.25.1 Official Tesla Release Notes

I would like to see a 360° view option. That's for sure.

Discuss: 2022.44.25.1 Official Tesla Release Notes

It's interesting that they seem to be back peddling on the "cards" for tire pressure, media controls, and trip meters. I'm not complaining; I thought the original card system worked well and am happy to see it come back. I wonder if they fixed the bug where you can't see an incoming text...

Discuss: Tesla’s Holiday Update Will Add These Features to the Tesla App

As long as we're airing our wishlist, mine would be to add power seat controls to the GUI. Whenever I transport my grandchild I have to move the passenger seat up, and reaching over the seat to the far side is getting really old. 😁

Discuss: More About Tesla’s WiFi Garage Door Support, Its Cost and Features

I can say that I won't by a Chamberlain product in the future (if I can avoid it). This subscription stuff is just icing on the cake and they are cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Discuss: More About Tesla’s WiFi Garage Door Support, Its Cost and Features

I don't know, there are a couple of reasons that I might like to have an automatic garage door opener. I keep the old push button remote in the drivers door pocket and it works pretty well. But the signal is not great so I have to be almost in the driveway before it can activate my garage...

Discuss: Tesla’s Holiday Update Will Add These Features to the Tesla App

Actually, that's a really good point. There have been several times where I wished I could turn off the air flow for the passenger like we can with the back seat passengers on the MY. My wife also complains of being too cold and my mother hates the air blowing in her face. The best we can do...

Discuss: Tesla’s Holiday Update Will Add These Features to the Tesla App

I might just have to get a PWS so that my MY can get some relief.

Discuss: More About Tesla’s WiFi Garage Door Support, Its Cost and Features

I think the fee comes from integrating with things outside the MyQ space. So, if you want to integrate the MyQ system with your car (Tesla) then you have to pay a fee.

Discuss: More About Tesla’s WiFi Garage Door Support, Its Cost and Features

Yea, I was actually thinking that an alternative might be to use the OpenGarage controller ($50) and Home Assistant to do the same thing. This keeps everything local and completely in my control, with no subscriptions. It's a bit more work and it doesn't integrate with Tesla as cleanly, but it...

Discuss: Tesla to Add WiFi Garage Door Support in Upcoming Holiday Update

Welp, it turns out that this is hot garbage and a complete non-starter for me. MyQ want's to charge a subscription fee to use open my garage door. Fuck that! https://www.notateslaapp.com/community/threads/discuss-more-about-tesla%E2%80%99s-wifi-garage-door-support-its-cost-and-features.787/

Discuss: More About Tesla’s WiFi Garage Door Support, Its Cost and Features

When I found out about the possibility of automatically operating my garage door from my car I was super happy. Then I found out it was MyQ, and my joy turned to uncertainess. MyQ (Chamberlain) are aggressively closed source but I thought that maybe they would be cool, just this once. I even...

Discuss: Tesla to Add WiFi Garage Door Support in Upcoming Holiday Update

I'm guessing that if MyQ can control the access gate then your Tesla won't know or care that it's not a garage door. And looking at the MyQ system, the only requirement seems to be that it can pair to your door opener like any other wireless remote. Basically, your door opener views the MyQ...

Discuss: Tesla reveals the Semi's efficiency, motors and Supercharging capability

I can see your point. However, I think renewable supplies could help quite a bit. Also, these power demands will be fairly well known in advance, which makes planning much easier.
