Would the replacement camera help FSD when it comes to U-turns?

That's a good question. They definitely could help in certain situations, but I don't think that's the limiting factor. In fact, although these cameras would improve various situations, FSD would still not be solved with new cameras alone. Tesla is smart to wait until knowing that the cameras are clearly what's holding them back before offering a potential replacement.

It'll be interesting to see how HW4 plays out and especially what Tesla launches in the upcoming Robotaxi. That should tell us more about what Tesla believes are some of the shortcomings of the current hardware.
