Wow, I think this is a really bad look. Sales are slumping, the Sales VP is suddenly no longer with the company, and the CEO decides to step in and run the show. That doesn't seem like signs of a healthy company to me.

I was thinking a few things- ‘You break it you buy it.’ He should fix the damage he caused. There can be an honest debate on how much he did but he certainly did.
Second- Maybe a micromanager mentality. Let’s hope he’s not starting to think he can’t trust others to do other jobs. That company is too big to NOT have others helping with the heavy lifting.
