Automatic defensive horn at low speeds.

In a congested parking lot someone began to back out of their parking spot almost hitting my rear passenger fender. Luckily, I saw this in my passenger side mirror and blew my horn inches before a collision.
The week prior in the same congested parking lot someone put their car in reverse and I just happened to see their reverse light and beeped my horn as a warning before they could back into my rear passenger side door.

Tesla should add a feature where the car senses these events and automatically responds appropriately with a long horn or several short horns. This would also be helpful when using Actually Smart Summon (ASS) where you are even more vulnerable to such collisions.

Happened something similar to me. Some geniuses enter their car on the opposite side of the parking of a charging stall. They go backwards without looking, only without realizing that meanwhile I had parked the car. I was speaking with a person near my car and we saw it moving with a loud bump.

Fix Mirror Auto Tilt

Mirrors do not return to saved tilt position when backing up to avoid scraping rims on curb. Tesla Vision alone is not precise enough to park close to the curb.

BTW....My 2004 BMW has this feature and it works flawlessly...lol
Looks like Tesla has an update on the way to enable saving the position of mirror tilt in reverse. Soon I can remove my curb scrapers. 😅

Double click on Trunk for delayed closure.
In absence of voice commands, it would be great if we could "arm" the trunk closure so it's executed after we left. Either by sensing that the key is away or at least with a customizable delay in seconds. Otherwise a powered trunk is a mere circus trick, if it literally doesn't close by itself when yout hands are full.

This is actually weird. Both on my previous M3 and the new highland I always found that both mirrors actually went down just right on reverse. The only annoying thing is that I wouldn't want the left mirror to go down if I'm parking right, and viceversa. This could be handled by turning arrows, but nowadays the car is capable of recognizing where the curb is.

That's a great idea where the turn signal while in reverse tilts the appropriate mirror down.

Yes I actually hate when both go down, you don't see bycicles, car, pedestrians, etc. precisely on the side you would need the most... of course we have cameras, but sometimes going rearwards only the rear camera is shown. Also, there are many artifacts on Tesla vision... literally ghosts :-D

Sure, but recognizing traffic lights status for deciding when to go or not is also part of the FSD Stack and it will probably not run the red light in your described scenario, at least i hope so :D

Its unclear when they release it in Europe yet, it could come in late 2024 if we're lucky. I already have FSD on the car (M3 LR 2021) as i bought it second hand, the first owner already bought it and it stayed on the car.
I guess this picture says it all. What would FSD do in this case? Honk at legitimate traffic? 😅

From the looks of the recent 32 and 38 major updates, it seems that while Tesla are only focusing on FSD (understandably although irrelevant to countries who can't have it - yet), they are scratching the barrel as far as incremental innovation goes.
Shouldn't they start a piece of their own for collecting owner's feedback, like this very thread, a true gold mine of practical ideas contributed by many real users?

Pop up lock doors icon upon entry.

The lock icon is too small on the Model S screen. When entering the vehicle I have to tap the little lock icon 2-3 times sometimes to lock my car. Should be much easier especially if someone is concerned about their safety and needs to lock their car quickly once they get in.

Recommend adding a pop up icon upon entry so people can more quickly lock their vehicle.

This is a good point, but I have another concern about the phone key.
Last time I tested this, keeping the driver's window open, unless I was in drive I could open the car from outside using the handle, because of the phone key proximity. Haven't seen if it has been fixed since then, possibly with UWB. Doubts about non-UWB devices...
If concerned about safety, probably disabling Bluetooth on the phone, opening the car with the app and locking it immediately looks like the only way to prevent intrusions (other than enabling to unlock the driver's door only).

Good point. I remember something similar a while back where a friend unlocked the passenger door while I was inside simply by touching the door handle. Not sure if this was before UWB upgrade. However in a recent event a friend could not unlock the door and I had to do it from the screen. Whatever Tesla does there should be no chance of an intrusion once the drive locks the doors.

I agree. But afaik locking from inside the vehicle has the same authority as locking from the app. And proximity unlocking, I think, follows the app logic, i.e. cannot be overridden by a lock in the car. Otherwise if you or a kid accidentally pressed the lock from inside on the screen, as the windows would close, you wouldn't be able to unlock the car anymore from outside.
Probably - I don't think it is already so - they should reduce the authority of proximity unlocking and increase that of in-car locking, so that only explicit app unlocking could override the latter.

Exactly. If, to your point, you want the car to behave like a standard car with keys, having the phone key is the only reason which defeats your purpose.

A scenario drives me crazy. I had to create a "Garage" profile associated with a key card, with disabled phone away lock, because using the Valet profile is not enough to leave my Tesla in a garage near the house.

They keep the keys outside of the car, on the windshield, fearing that the car would lock them out, although I told then that they could leave it on the pad all the time.

Obviously this would allow them adding their phones, another card, etc. because the Garage profile isn't restricted as the Valet profile.

Solutions:
- the car could automatically enable valet mode upon losing contact with my phone in specific GPS locations, instead of (in addition to, if desired) locking the car
- having a key that could be associated automatically to the Valet profile, if forgotten to do so before

Define key addresses by drawing a perimeter on the map
This looks subtle, but it's quite a tedious one.
If you rely on the car behaving differently based on addresses (e.g. home, work, favorites) you quickly found out that, unless you really parked the car on or next to the street, most of the time the car would think it's in an adjacent or even opposite road.
This defeats a lot of features, like address exclusions, and even the charging stats (i.e. your car will rarely be tracked as charging "home", not to mention having multiple homes).

Anticipate turns to keep speed

On steep highway bends, the car doesn't anticipate the turn and obviously slows down / risks to hit the opposite guardrail, so in order to keep the speed / avoid an accident autopilot must be constantly toggled off/on
Seems like Curve Assist is coming with 2024.38.4, hooray. Still unclear in which countries...
