List of software bugs

Along with the software update wishlist, I thought it would be great sharing the bugs.

I start with one already mentioned before: Wrong detection of green semaphore

I think this image speaks for itself. Imagine FSD on this. I was in one of the two mid lanes of a 4-lane road (left and right lanes were for respective turns), 2 reds above, 2 greens on the screen.

Phonecall doesn't end on Tesla screen
Already the third time it happens. I notice this especially when I had music prior to the call, and it doesn't resume after. I usually fix it by temporarily disabling bluetooth on the phone (easier than fiddling with the car's menu).

What's this BS? Intelligent Speed Assist disabled now is constantly displayed whenever the alert is muted (so, always). Been like this since the last updates. We should be able to get rid of this by "acknowledging" the warning, otherwise there is no way to see other real alerts, as the red dot is always displayed.

Lately, when I get into the car on the MY, sometimes the grey path planner from FSD is left behind. I’m not sure how else to describe it, but in the visualization, the path is left behind even though the car has already moved on. I keep trying to snap a picture of it whenever I can, but I’ll keep trying.

It seems like the last couple of updates have somewhat broken the Climate portion of the mobile app. I activate the "fan" feature in the mobile app and sometimes it just doesn't work. Sometimes it turns on the A/C but not the heat. Sometimes it says the interior temperature is higher than what I set it to; this is immediately after turning it on while the car is in a cold garage. Sometimes it works perfectly.

It's weird because I don't know if it's just me or I'm imagining things or I've forgotten how my car works after 4 years of owning a Tesla. 🤷‍♂️

Even to this day I get green light chimes when the light I’m waiting for is not green, obviously this is a very convenient feature but I never fully rely on it.
I just get the shivers thinking that in such conditions FSD would start to cross the intersection, if there are no cars in front.

I’ve thought the same thing and I’ve never had such an incident. Which is why it’s confusing that the chimes can be so inaccurate because FSD still maneuvers very well with intersection and traffic lights.

2024 Model 3 with FSD 13.2.2
FSD wants to take left turns at green lights when it is not its turn. In simpler terms, the light goes green meaning FSD can go into the intersection, but it is not a protected turn. Both directions of travel have a green light, and FSD tries to jump out in front of the traffic as soon as the light turns green to make the left. Has happened on multiple occasions and I always have to disengage and report the issue. Always at the same intersection as well, but I have not tried it at other intersections.

App doesn't connect. But widget does!
This is funny. Images speak for themselves.
Yesterday I started trickle-charging at 8A to 100% for our trip today, and this morning there was no way to resuscitate the car. All commands time our, including sentry, locks, etc.

However, the widget on the same phone seems very up to date 😅

Same on iOS.

Ah no it failed 1h ago also for the widget. I'll go and see if I can resuscitate via brake pedal.

I had a similar issue a while back. It turned out to be that my Wi-Fi router and internet had gone offline (completely lost connection to my ISP). While my phone (iPhone) is smart enough to switch to cellular service when there is no internet connection on Wi-Fi, my Tesla was not as clever. The car would stay connected to the router, meaning it basically had no connection at all. So I would try to go into the app to turn on preconditioning, and all commands would fail to send. Only once I got within Bluetooth range did the commands work properly, and the app updated. The issue did not resolve until I disconnected the car from Wi-Fi manually in the settings, and then re-enable it once my internet service was restored by my ISP. It is somewhat puzzling to me that Tesla doesn't have an automatic fallback to cellular if it detects that there is no internet connection through Wi-Fi after a certain period of time.

I realized that it was the usual bug post software update. When I took the car the day after, it didn't have any mobile connection. A soft reboot as usual fixed it. Makes me wonder why they don't automatically perform it after a software update.

Figers-on button NEW NAG
2025.14.7 introduced a new annoyance. Instead of using the capacitive buttons to sense hands on the wheel, now there is a very annoying visual+audible alert that says kinda like "remove your (dirty) fingers from the buttons of the steering wheel, you are getting me confused". And the warning ironically disappears only if you... again touch the button (without pressing). They love sarcasm, apparently.

Autopilot max speed warning
Was wondering... why is there still a visual warning saying that the autopilot is limited to 140km/h when you use the scroll?

I think that was introduced when Vision caused the limit to decrease from the original 150km/h, to introduce the change. Why the hell is it still there?

If I can't go further than 140km/h I might have already found out after 60000 times I've already seen it. What do we have user profiles for?

I like to drive with ACC a lot. But in Town it's annoying.
I drive along a street with ACC. Typically without dividing markers in the middle. At the side there are parked cars. Despite my constant driving is strait and in the middle with good distance to the parked cars the ACC brakes for some every parked car.

Yes because it can't judge if the cars are moving or still. In fact on the display you see them moving.

So: bug. You as person determin them clearly as standing still. This is what I expect from the system.
I think the issue here is not so much the stopped cars on the side of the road, but instead a combination of things. ACC in these cars is not as sophisticated as FSD, but still somewhat clever. The combination of the fact that you aren’t centered in a lane, and have the cars on either side could be throwing off what it thinks should be happening. I’m sure this will change soon, as it seems Tesla has started to get rid of some of the older autopilot stack with a newer stack of FSD but limited in features.

It has a lot to do both with image recognition and situational awareness. Happens often that something is misinterpreted in shape (the famous video of tombstone interpreted as walking people), motion (this case, a parked car standing still is visibly moving and becoming red on the screen or even sheer existence (when mine showed a sideways truck between 2 buildings in a simple 2 lane opposite direction seaside road.
