Driving in heavy fog, wind, and rain the other night with FSD active when the alarm chime started blaring and the red steering wheel appears, telling me to take over, while the hazards activate. Happened a few times. that evening. Next morning there was less fog, wind, and rain - yet it happened again. Has anyone else experienced this or have context as to what triggers this?

It could be that FSD is struggling to "see" clearly so it will display the "take over immediately" warning. However, this is one of the things Tesla supposedly improved in recent FSD updates, which is to be able to recover from these states without needing input. It is honestly hard to tell without video or knowing exactly the conditions that you were experiencing. Maybe it could even be the cameras being dirty rather than the weather, but if the weather is really that bad, then it could just be FSD not being able to function as reliably.
I had a take over immediately with clear conditions last night. No idea why, and after I took over I started FSD up again. The rest of that ride and back home. (About 120 miles total) no issues. It was a strange one, a bunch of cars all moving along at 60 MPH or more smoothly, just before sunset so plenty of light, clean cameras, so no idea. Certainly not like your conditions. I’m on the same build.
