IMHO - I think it has a lot to do with the data the various apps collect and who owns it. Just a guess - but I suspect Apple/Google want to control more data than what Tesla wants to give them. That data is worth a lot of $ and can be monetized by the holder. This is pure speculation on my part but I have a hunch it has a lot to do with Tesla’s position. I do wish Tesla would get their own App Store working for the community which would solve a lot of the user community issues.

Understandably, Tesla is all about integration and in their particular case actually car movement is dependent on Tesla’s navigation system when driving with FSD. I like the many features and simplicity of the Tesla UI. My only complaint is the lack of iMessage. Text messaging is cumbersome on Tesla and you cannot reply to a group which is a major problem. Adding Apple Music was a plus, but it doesn’t resume playing when you get back into the car like Spotify does.
