It isn't just Volkswagen! Pretty much all legacy automakers rested on their laurels for so long that new competitors that entered the market are steadily eating into their sales. And even so, to this day, instead of making compelling offerings to compete, they basically take the same old stuff that they had and throw a battery on it and call it done. Tesla and other EV makers like Rivian, BYD, and Lucid have shown the world just how good vertical integration and going fully electric can be, and there is no going back. No matter how many hybrids they make, legacy auto simply doesn't seem to understand that people just want good, cheap EVs with decent features.

I actually wasn't aware of that! That's sad to hear because they make great cars, just not very good on the software side of things and often too expensive for most people.

i read that it’s not because they are in trouble financially for right now but, they just want to downsize and reduce operations costs.
