FWIW- I think the mirrors do not FOLD with a motor, but you still adjust them (and now the seats) on screen. Settings still get linked to driver profiles too :) .

It's one thing to deal with different versions of software depending on model, age, hardware, and chip. It's a whole other thing if they begin removing native car (not software) features. It's like going back to the day when a cassette player and AC were options. Most modern cars have heated seats and steering as the default (many even the vented seats). And Tesla is talking about taking them away to lower the cost?? I call BS on their motives. No other ICE manufacturer takes that approach anymore. The things that were once options are now standard and have been for many years. I can't remember the last time I saw a car w/o cruise control - but I had one in 1988.

WRT heated steering and front seat— they do have those features. The TACC is also there, what is NOT there is lane centering.
Regardless, the standard models are out and they are what they are. I looked at the Y yesterday and it looked like a great deal to me but that is an n of 1.

I'm not in the market for a new car, so I am uninformed what else you can get in that price range, or what features it would include. That said, I think these are still great features, and people seem to want more for less these days. I understand that it may not be ideal, but it is still a decent car for the price. But I do wish they hadn't abandoned the idea of a sub 30k car, as I think that would have really gotten people interested and buying EVs.
