It is hilariously childish what is unfolding between these two. In all honesty, at this point, I feel as though Elon is just doing more damage to the companies he owns than anything else.
I love my Tesla, and the value it has provided to me, but I can't bring myself to buy another one if this is kind of thing is still happening when it is time for me to swap cars.
I don't think any US or EU based carmakers are close to providing what Tesla is providing and at their prices. However, China is more than poised to take that place, and all they need is an opportunity to break into other markets. And this is exactly what that is accomplishing.
Buy a Chinese EV isn't necessarily my preference, but I am not biased, and I will always buy whatever provides the best value for me personally. And if that means buying a superior Chinese product, then so be it.
Rivian is still also very much on the table, as soon as they start releasing less expensive models.
