So if what this article is saying is accurate, then FSD V15 hasn't been on all Robotaxi vehicles and is instead likely on a select few? That is an odd way to do it, but I suppose it makes sense since they have full control and monitoring over these cars.

My question is still why they are using the Robotaxi service as the test group. On the surface, that seems like a bad idea, especially if there is a bug that isn't caught during initial validation or internal testing. Tesla is basically putting “untested” beta software on cars that unsuspecting riders use. I’m just saying it seems like a lot of risk for a service for which safety is the top priority.

That may be it. The RTs without someone in the driver's seat are on a more stable version, those with monitors in the seat are on the v15? Or the CCs with steering wheels and monitors are running v15? Who knows. No point in speculating about it :) . Here's hoping next month brings a v15 for all.

You might be right, but then that would mean that the only V15 robotaxis being tested are in the California Bay Area. I just don't think they would restrict themselves to just one region because laws, traffic, and a whole bunch of other things are different from one geofenced area to another.
