I'm not on 14.3.9 yet (14.3.8) but I thought I would post this here-
Last night on the way down to Tempe I ran into a real gully washer. Summer storms are spotty here, you can literally see the edges as you drive into the rain and out. Once in them they can dump enough rain to drop visibility. Last night for about 6 minutes of driving on SFSD the car drove along fine and appropriate. There were several cars putting on their hazard lights and pulling over to the side of the road to wait the storm out as water piled up on the asphalt. Twice I got warnings about the front camera with a pic but not once did I get the red hands take over alert.
I feel like that WOULD have happened, as it did happen in similar circumstances, on the previous version.
Pulling over seems like a good idea BUT- other goobers put on their hazard lights and continue to drive slowly. So now you have hazard lights for moving and stationary cars, which can cause confusion and collisions. At least they would be slow speed. My memory is there is no reason to leave your hazard lights on if your car is in motion, it is only confusing.
Another well done 120 mile round trip by SFSD.

I think you are remembering correctly about the hazard lights while in motion. To my understanding, it is actually illegal in most states, but it isn't something that is regularly enforced. Some states do allow it, but only under certain circumstances. The US has some really weird traffic laws.

So having flashers on WHILE driving (extreme weather, problem with car, forgot to turn them off, etc) would interfere with FSD -how so, like what does FSD do when it encounters stationary vehicles with flashers on and how does it differ from vehicles driving with flashers on.

Also, can FSD differentiate flasher on while parked and emergency vehicles flashers, traffic light flashing, etc.

What would happen if someone shined a flashlight in flashing mode at a Tesla in FSD mode ?.

Other goobers driving with their flashers on in heavy rain didn’t phase my car on FSD. They were simply cars in the right lane.

FSD 14.3.8 most likely saved me yesterday from getting clipped in Flagstaff, this time it was someone in front of me and in right lane that darted over into my lane without signaling or looking. I was lucky there was some room for my car to move left.
14.3.9 downloaded to both our cars last night.
