This is a cool new feature, but I wish they could show a demonstration of it in action and how it will work. Likewise, I really hope this update finally includes pothole avoidance.

It’s for employee beta testing, like all new updates. The purpose is to shake out bugs, solve past issues prior to public release.

I’m am reluctant to see any improvements on pot hole avoidance without standardized tests-shadows, oil spills, nails, black tar/paint spills, blowing leaves, dead flattened animals, etc.

Is the front bumper cam involved or front window camera, is it just new lines of code. Does is it swerve, slow down, stop momentarily, etc. Are they any visual/audible notifications.

Can someone share how it spose to work-detection vs reaction procedure.

I've seen a YT video on this where the presenter is a pilot, he points out that similar safety features are often overridden by pilots because the pilots aren't familiar with them. That and to avoid the plane stalling it points DOWN and natural instinct is to pull up when that happens.

So yeah- we need to see it in action at least. It's basically an enhanced automatic braking when steering will avoid a collision because slowing alone won't.

I can see a call to have this on ALL cars regardless of FSD subscription. And drivers monitoring.

If the feature works as well as I hope it does, I really don't see why they should be locking it behind a subscription. You can certainly make the argument that other car makers do the same thing, but that doesn't mean it's a good thing.

Either way, if this is going to be a thing, there is definitely going to be some sort of Tesla manual entry or documentation to tell users about it. Otherwise, it would be extremely concerning or jarring if you are about to get into an accident and the car starts doing its own thing without warning.

Hmmm I have to see someone testing it out with the items I mentioned, I maintain my reluctance to endorse any such new feature.
