That method of using 3 to have 2 agree on something sounds like something right out of the airplane that had a bit flip issue recently. If that makes sense.
I’d be happy to lose some of the hesitation I see at very inopportune times.

seems like another pacifier bridge 'til AI-5 arrives & mass produced.
They are saying AI-5 will be the last chip in Tesla's so why do we need 4.5 ?, how much faster/smarter will it be.

Too many chips in the mix.

My question is, if this is essentially the same module but with 3 SOC instead of two, what is stopping them from making this a retrofit option? Similar to the front bumper camera, it doesn't seem like much of an ask if customers are willing to pay for the upgrade. Hopefully some clever people online will figure out a way to make this work, and we will eventually be able to perform this upgrade ourselves in the future following some guides, and purchasing the parts ourselves.

Hmmm interesting but retrofitting might still not attain what hw3 owners were promised, I’d have to see one made, inserted onto an hw3 and field tested to compare.
