I recently read an article about what the status of HW3 is for Europe. Seems like we have again a long wait ahead, as the Dutch RDW confirmed to Tesla that v14 Lite would have to apply for the same 18 months approval process that the standard v14 went through. The only little hope is that the EU wide approval, which is scheduled in December this year, could clear the path for a shorter approval to HW3's Version of FSD. But that remains to be seen. Again dark times and just straws of hope for the brave HW3 guys out there in Europe. Our vehicles are aging and probably will have spent the most of their livespan without FSD :/ It is also possible that Tesla abandons on getting HW3 approved in Europe completely and focusses on Hardware Upgrades instead, but then again, this also seems so unlikely to me because of the immense cost and and time it will consume to upgrade millions of vehicles out there (remember, they do not just need the new HW4 Computer, all of them also need new harnesses and cameras which requires disassembling most of the vehicle...). So, what path is it gonna be? Hopefully this gets more clear after HW4 gets EU wide approval, as it will then turn out how complicated or long a HW3 approval is gonna take.

That’s a huge undertaking-all those cars need to be brought into service will back up service centers for several months/years, the cost we be shy high. Good luck with that.
At least they said it would be done on "specialised, temporary upgrade facilities" so the existing service centers do not have to take this workload additionally. But as you say, the cost will by enormously high. Hope is all we can have :D I have the full FSD package on my car (not subscription), so maybe those get to upgrade first, if ever. And even if it takes another 2 or 3 years, i still plan to drive this vehicle until its dead, so if the battery lives for another 10 or 15 years i would still have many years of FSD ahead of me, even when the vehicle is aging :D

Maybe not, I suspect fsd 15 with 4.5 SI computer will be the standard going forward and SI 3 FSD cars will be phased out of any more updates. Too many cars that need several parts swapped out and U think their gonna build temp service centers for this-who pays for those ?

My guess, to counteract the Chinese EV take-over along with government $15000 ev rebates, those waiting will shrink vastly.

Tech software changes too quickly..........if you are NOT a subscriber (cash going to Tesla) you will never be a TOP priority to them. It's just not economically viable to rectify this.

Thats right, they made the money already in 2021 when the previous owner of my car bought the 7.500€ FSD package with the car. So here's the catch: Even though im not a subscriber and therefore a current source of income, the car still has the same full FSD Package applied to it as the subscribers. So when it comes to providing (if it ever happens) any upgrades, they technically would have to treat those people the same or many owners will go to court because they already paid for the same package that people are now subscribing to. I will wait and see what happens :D

WAIT being the operative word, it is so generic that lawyers use as a delay tactic which they may never have to deliver what was promised, all while creating the illusion of the inevitable.

Myself-I would have never bought and paid for the whole "one day in the "near future" promise schitck.
