Awareness of acoustic alerts from outside

Teslas are protecting you from outside noises.

However, alerts from sirens, horns, or bells might go unnoticed, or you wonder where it is coming from.

It would be great to hear alerts on the speakers with spatial positioning, in addition to the position shown on the display.

I wonder if flashing light from emergency vehicles can be detected so FSD could pull over to let those vehicles to pass.

Unfortunately there aren't any Teslas that we're aware of that include external microphones. It seems that hearing the outside environment could be crucial as Tesla continues to develop FSD. Musk previously said that Tesla would display and react to emergency vehicles based on sound, although it's not clear whether he meant using internal microphones or something new. Tesla already reacts to emergency vehicles, but it's based on flashing lights.

Listening to the outside environment could provide essential cues as to what's happening around the vehicle.
