HW3 Users: Why can't we just buy a HW4 computer and cameras instead of waiting ?

HW3 guy here on my 2022 M3LR. Regardless of what transpires for those of us who purchased FSD outright, there is no way in hell I would ever buy an AI4 or 5 Tesla until the day they have truly been approved as unsupervised and HW is no longer a rate limiter. I would have to be sure that the car...

Discuss: Tesla Update 2025.32.8.5 (FSD Supervised V14.1) Release Notes

For those stuck on V12 with HW3, I wish Tesla would share a true roadmap for FSD (and other features) rather than the hyperbole that comes out. We've heard rumblings of a HW replacement sometime down the road. We've gotten nothing in 2025 that are game changers. Just say if we're at the end of...

Discuss: Musk Reveals Tesla FSD V14 Rollout Plan, Starting Next Week

I've given up hope that we'll get a v13+. It's hard to describe how disenchanted I've become with a 2022 model purchased in Nov 21, over the last 1-2 years. I remember the excitement of waiting for my order. I couldn't care less anymore.

Discuss: Tesla Grok App: First Look at Its Interface and Features

Since things have almost stopped for Intel or HW3 guys, my mind has shifted toward it being "just another car." It's no longer as "cool" as it was. Ah well, I still have two more years of payments.

Discuss: Tesla Discusses HW3 Upgrade and Its Next-Gen AI5 FSD Computer

It's very possible the car will be paid off and may not be in my garage when that day comes. 😂

Discuss: Tesla Discusses HW3 Upgrade and Its Next-Gen AI5 FSD Computer

Yeah, I don't know. Good question. Is there "fine print" anywhere on this? I bought it outright when I ordered my car in late 2021 (2022 M3). At that time, it hadn't occurred to me that hardware limitations could exclude me from ever experiencing unsupervised FSD.

Discuss: Tesla Discusses HW3 Upgrade and Its Next-Gen AI5 FSD Computer

Exactly what I came to write. I plan to treat my 2022 M3LR like I would any car. Pay it off, drive it a bit longer, get something else. The article tells me all I need to know about the future. HW3 vehicles will receive minor tweaks and enhancements, perhaps a larger feature or two, but we are...

    Discuss: Tesla’s Next-Gen FSD Computer (HW5 / AI5) Rumored to Deliver 5x More Power

What I theorize is that unsupervised FSD will never happen. There will always be a HW or regulatory constraint preventing it from reaching 100%. If they do happen to achieve 100%, what external event will cause it to drop back to less than? Some new law, a fringe scenario, or changes to...

Discuss: 2025.20.3 Official Tesla Release Notes

Not meant as shade if one likes the CyberTruck, but I'd be embarrassed to own one now. According to the news, I've read that they've had their share of problems. And if I made an early reservation for the Roadster; I'd be unhappy it still isn't a thing. I don't follow that stuff closely, but I'm...

Discuss: 2025.20.3 Official Tesla Release Notes

Speaking for myself, with my HW3/M3LR, I have had a shift in mindset about possible and upcoming software releases. I'm curious to know if others share the same sentiment. I used to anticipate the next rollout, check the deployment rates, and eagerly wait for my turn. I've quit caring and...

Is FSD 12.6.4 The End Of The Line?

Tesla is garbage at communicating strategy. I understand that roadmaps can shift, change, or come to an end. But as a consumer of a high-priced and upgradable item, I'd like to see more transparency beyond Elon's tweets. Internally, they should know how far HW3 will go, or if they are still...

Discuss: Tesla's Spring Update Tear Down: New Grok Code, Ridesharing Features and More

Opinions for those of us on HW3: do you think we are at the end of FSD updates and will only receive random features that can work with our hardware and chips?

Discuss: Musk Teases Major Improvements to FSD — Is Version 14 on the Way?

I get similar behavior occasionally on freeway exits. It'll be a ¼ mile from the exit. Rather than merge right into a slower lane and wait for the exit, it tries to get speedy on the left and puts me at risk of not only missing my exit but pissing off other drivers. Since I'm on HW3, I've almost...

Discuss: Tesla’s FSD V13 Pushes HW4 Hardware Capabilities; End of Line for HW3?

I'm on HW3 and generally satisfied, but I hope more can be done. I'd be more pissed to be on HW4 and already hearing it is pushing its limits. I'm probably not in the market for a new vehicle for another 2-3 years, but I'm interested in the future of non-Tesla EVs. My gut says there is a more...

    Tesla Politics

I've never been a Musk fan or considered him a tech genius. I know how he got his wealth and positions as CEO of various companies, and it wasn't because he's an "inventor." He's as much a personality as the guy he hangs with. I bought my car because of what it did and what it is capable of...

    Tesla Politics

Does this site purposely avoid news on the happenings and anti-Tesla vandalism that is dominating the news lately bc of Musk? That stuff impacts our wellbeing as much as a software rollout and has me concerned what someone may do to my car because Musk is tanking policy and agencies and has no...

Discuss: Tesla FSD v12.6.4 / FSD v13.2.8 (Update 2024.45.32.20) Release Notes

It seems to have stopped (for now). I took it on its first 6-hour round trip drive this week, and I had no interventions unless they were intentional (to change the audio without getting dinged). Even during city rush hour, it was great at navigating the lanes without the risk of making other...

Discuss: Tesla FSD v12.6.4 / FSD v13.2.8 (Update 2024.45.32.20) Release Notes

My experience has been abysmal with 12.6.4. I haven't been on the freeway with it yet, but it is now taking some once-perfect turns in the city, like a 15-year-old practicing for their driving test. Returning from dinner last night, it entered my subdivision and drove under 10 mph in a 25 zone...
