That seems to be the difference. My car is on Home Wifi every night when parked in the garage so it gets the update waves Tesla is sending frequently. Nice to know that you have to be Wifi connected for the car to "recognize the wave" even, i thought mobile data was enough to at least recognize...
V14 lite would also be sufficient for me, i am not yet convinced that the free hardware upgrade (including cameras) will take place although they teased it. It's is for sure that we will be a long time on V14 lite before Hardware Upgrade is even feasible, looking at the number of vehicles and...
I wonder what they consider as "major cities" for setting up those hubs. Does it have to be cities with 100.000+ citizens? Then i would have to drive for about 2 hours in every direction to reach the nearest major city at my destination. Also i would have to drive there twice because its a...
Seems like the whole HW3/HW4 Story will happen again with HW4/HW4+ - although its not that bad this time as cameras stay the same, its "only" the computer. But do they really wanna have to retrofit a ton of vehicles again? Or maybe they do achieve unsupervised FSD on Standard HW4 and there will...
Correct, this is a massive and heavy process for Tesla, so i am glad to see that there is something moving in this regard! Even a multi-day process? Wow thats massive work they have to do - as far as i know, there are about 4 million HW3 Vehicles around worldwide :D I would also be just happy if...
Updates are coming in waves, sadly theres nothing you can do about when the switch gets flipped for your vehicle :D But i did notice that with the intern switch for faster updates, they do come a little bit sooner, but not much
At least they answered that a Hardware Upgrade is still "planned" by Tesla for HW3 Owners, but still no time frame for it. It seems like V14 lite is coming late June or July so the hardware retrofit is for sure starting in 2027 earliest i guess :D Better than nothing! I hope its not taking too...
Well, this article reads like a "don't give up on hope! You still get a fraction of the features AMD Verhicles get!" :D All the features delivered are pointless to me. I can name my Pet in renamed "Pet Mode"? No improvement just gimmick - and most of the other "Features" are yet more statistical...
If you are a HW3 + FSD Owner, i would recommend signing up here: HW3Claim.nl
They collect data to build some pressure for Tesla to not neglect us HW3 Owners :)
Also, i will be (for other reasons) in the Netherlands from 14. to 17. May - if its not approved in my country by then, maybe i am able to test it on my car when i'm there :p
For sure! I am interested in how good the HW3 FSD will do in my area where you can encounter streets with no lane markings at all, and a lot of mountain driving is near. I will for sure test some tricky roads because im just curious :D
Sounds a bit too optimistic. But time will tell how much this will help keeping HW3 Vehicles alive with FSD, i will not put much hope on Tesla putting so much energy in developing this approach just for legacy vehicles to stay alive. It's probably not worth the cost for Tesla, can understand...
Well, turns out it did not get any better with 2026.8.3 on HW3 - still brutal acceleration in stop and go traffic with hard braking afterwards, no smooth sailing... So still not really usable for such situations. Come on, FSD! Be released in EU finally :D Fingers crossed for 10.04. 🤞
I would definetly be happy about big markings, but for me it also needs to be accessible without unmounting something beforehand. I am currently searching for a third party retrofit to extend the emergency pull cord to be accessible from the outside i'll keep you guys updated here if i find...
Yeah they are behind the interior door cover, but try to unmount that in an emergency situation, and also, your passengers, which maybe do not ride in a Tesla too often, forget where this manual release is located the second after i tell them XD
