Sounds very complicated for no reason, why scan a screen with cameras, interpret the picture to get speed and other data when you can just use the CAN Bus as Data Source for a HUD like that

i was thinking the same thing. seems like unnecessary hardware, which means an unnecessary higher price. not only that, but that does add a bit of privacy concerns.
