Tesla to Enable 'Active Noise Cancellation' on Cybertruck With Update

I wish they would have an option on both the Model 3 and Y for ANC, especially now that the Model S and X are being discontinued.

I know it sounds like a good thing (see what I did there?) but honestly I haven’t been able to tell what it’s doing.
But yes, the 3 and Y should be the beneficiaries to those S/X exclusive features in the near future.

I think that's the real problem I have with the top-tier models being discontinued. There is no place to showcase advanced features that set the brand apart; Tesla has eliminated their "look what we can do" vehicles. Maybe the M3/MY are the place to do that, but making those cars "better" doesn't really advertise anything. Normal people can't tell that a specific MY has 48v architecture or proportional steering or whatever the next big thing is.

However, a somewhat rarer car is special and you don't see 10 of them on the way to work every day. That's kinda the purpose of the more pricey models, to show off a bit. I guess you could consider it marketing.

I completely agree. They no longer have that top-of-the-line in tech/luxury kind of car to really make themselves stand out from the crowd. Along with that, all the cool/luxury options that those cars had are also going away with them. I don't know what Tesla plans on doing, but I really hope they aren't going down the route of becoming a company that sells a single "general purpose" consumer car that is autonomous but loses all the things that made owning a Tesla cool in the first place. I guess time will tell.

As a small side note, I don't just want the ANC from the S and X in the Model 3 and Y; I also want them to introduce the better GPU and Steam games, along with things like an air suspension option and a ton of the nicer features those cars had. I also wish they would make the Model 3 have a hatchback like the Model S; that alone would probably convince me to upgrade my current Model 3, since not having the hatch really limits how big of an item you can fit back there.

I was looking into ANC recently (because I was about to buy some Apple AirPods), and it turns out that some people really aren't as affected by ANC as others. You might just be one of those people! Personally, I feel it as a bit of pressure in my ears, so I can definitely notice when it is on and working. I relate it to a similar feeling of being on a plane when your ears haven't "popped" yet.
