I remember this and recall thinking that it was very weird to have an "America makes great EVs" event and not invite the largest EV producer in the world, let alone America. It just seemed spiteful. I have no love for Elon but ignoring Tesla for something like this was beyond the fold for me.

For as 'on the spectrum' as Elon is I suspect he takes things very personally and don't doubt this is a HUGE reason he swung so hard to the 'right.' That and being anti-union. We can't ever really know, I'm not sure even Elon knows :) . Politics has always been more about relationships over reality. I also worry about Elon (or any brilliant, ultra successful person) being surrounded by people who don't want to challenge them. We call them 'yes men' but these days I'll say 'yes them' :) .
Good on Harris for admitting this out loud, has Elon responded to this? Seems like an opportunity to either be a petty douche or more forward with grace. Anyone wanna bet on douche or grace?
