I am guessing that is the exact intention behind this, seeing as they likely want a vehicle that can fit at least 5 passengers comfortably in the Robotaxi (assuming no one can sit in the driver's seat). Could also just be that there is enough demand for it from regular customers. I wonder if they plan on doing the same to the Model X for future, more extensive refresh.

Now this is a welcome addition, and actually does more justice aesthetically to the Y form factor (without the Merc-Benz coffin-style) than the standard model.

I’ve also seen reports of the Model 3 Plus being registered (if that’s the correct term) with the Chinese govt. Now that is interesting, that is - if they are squeezing a few more kWH into the same frame!

I wonder if it's a larger battery or possibly a longer wheelbase, similar to this new Model Y, and if it will be exclusive to the Chinese market. Maybe they are doing testing over there, since they seem to be able to change manufacturing and production much more quickly in that market.
