I was really intrigued and surprised when it drove up the wall and upside down. I was SHOCKED when it flew off the stand, flipped over, and landed! Oh, it's not practical in any sense of the word but it is enjoyable and I'm not sure any other car maker could/would have pulled this off.

I'm no fan of the Tesla CEO; I don't think he's kind or even very smart. However, he does know how to push ideas forward (good or bad) and make things happen (good or bad). He kinda reminds me of Steve Jobs, though without the sense of taste. I don't think Steve was a good person in any sense of the word, but he recognized the things that needed to be done and pushed to make them a reality.

It is amazing stuff. No reason to produce it. I'd (of course) would prefer to see leaps in battery tech allowing for 400+ mile EPA range without no added weight.

The fact that currently it's easier to make a Roadster prototype that jumps shows how difficult (currently difficult) it is to mass produce lighter, higher density batteries that aren't more expensive. I forgot to mention that requirement- so cheaper, better, lighter batteries are still a ways out.
