Great to hear that some progress is going on regarding FSD in Europe. What i do not understand in the article: Does Tesla have to modify FSD to fit Article 39 for the EU or is it just regulatory work? Also, lets see how it turns out for HW3 Owners in Europe. Sounds like it is still more than a year to get this approved when current HW4 will definetly be the first to be approved (obviously), we saw this in China FSD release too. HW3 followed many months later. Thanks for keeping us up to date!

Just a thought, if they start public testing of FSD in some EU countries in 2026, won't they need to merge the standard Autopilot software and the FSD stack?
After all, FSD will probably not be legal to use in neighbouring countries, so the car should be able to switch between the two when crossing a border, which, as I understand it, is not currently possible, or they could just turn it off completely, so you only have ACC, but that's not exactly an optimal customer experience.

It would be nice to have a scaled-down version of FSD V14 for normal use as autosteer/ACC, instead of the old stack :)

As far as i can tell, when having them as separate stacks they can run individually. So if you cross a Border, there will be a warning to take over control before crossing the border and only Autosteer/ACC will be available from then on. They had the same Thing with US/Mexico Border before FSD became available in Mexico.

But generally they want to eliminate the old stack, we will see how this turns out to be then. Fingers crossed!

Having at least Autosteer/ACC derived from FSD v14 would also be amazing! Current stack in Europe is dangerous to use...
