Imagine a world where even the current base Model 3 gets up to 400 miles or more of total range, and a real world 380 miles of range. That would be game changing and would likely finally convince a lot of people to go fully electric. Assuming that charge times either stay the same or improve, and that the cost of the car stays the same, I wouldn't see any reason to go for a gas or hybrid car anymore. It would almost certainly also make the sub 30k Tesla a real possibility as well, and the best part is that even that would likely still be able to get at least 300 miles of range. What a time to be alive! Battery tech is something I can really appreciate, and not only in EVs, but in other mobile applications.

P.S. Can we possibly get a bit more coverage on these kinds of topics in the future? And possibly also solar, or other renewables? Please and thank you!

Yes, and a lighter car that’s rated at 300-350 miles which is even more efficient!
The benefits of higher density batteries should do more than just give us more range. Less time when supercharging, less supercharging will alleviate some burden on the fast charging networks. If charging to 80% takes roughly the same amount of time on a bigger battery or a small battery then this is a win for everyone. For example- if I need to charge to 90%+ to get to somewhere and back in rural AZ waiting for that battery to get from 80 to 90% is a good chunk of time. If I’m going to 90% I prolly would go to 100% because of potential delays or detours and that’s even longer.
Then there’s the benefit to anyone who is towing.
I suppose a car with 350 miles rated range (btw, the new 3 is damn close to its rated range from what we have seen) that could charge faster would also be a great option for most people. That is- if that tech wasn’t more expensive / heavier, etc.
Fun times!
