I almost "weaseled" my way into a highland refresh of my M3 about a year ago (as they got cheaper) as it would be an infotainment + hw4 upgrade for me (alongside other nice things like LED Bar, improved range and rear display), but i refused because of uncertainty if this will be sufficient...

Approval for? FSD is already approved on HW3 in North America with 12.6.4 or am i wrong on this? V14 lite should be released by the end of June in North America

Sounds very complicated for no reason, why scan a screen with cameras, interpret the picture to get speed and other data when you can just use the CAN Bus as Data Source for a HUD like that :D

Great news in my opinion! Helps a lot to read that we have at least not been forgotten and a retrofit will be prepared, also V14 lite coming soon (hopefully). I wonder that when the retrofit starts probably in 2027 or 2028, some HW3 cars will be 10+ years old - will it still be worth doing this...

That seems to be the difference. My car is on Home Wifi every night when parked in the garage so it gets the update waves Tesla is sending frequently. Nice to know that you have to be Wifi connected for the car to "recognize the wave" even, i thought mobile data was enough to at least recognize...
