I have been on the early release program for years. I guess I'm venting. The speed profiles why cant they add a custom where we could put 5 over or 10 over etc. The standard profile at 55 is 70 is going to get me a ticket yet.
The lane changing is driving me crazy. Let us pick manual mode change lanes with directional. Driving in Boston if I want to stay in the center lane I should beable to. The car drives me nuts sometimes.
Just a thought give us custom or manual as options. Love to get feed back.

I'm going to be honest, the majority of the time I keep it in chill on the highway and only switch to standard, hurry, or Mad Max if I'm actually in a hurry. And on city streets I keep it between chill and standard as well. I agree that the difference between the profiles is too much, at least in FSD v14.2.2.5. From the videos I've seen of FSD v14.3.X, the speed profiles seem to do a lot better. As far as lane choice goes, I don't personally have an issue with it; if I put it in chill, it often keeps to the right lanes, and anything higher than chill, it will either keep in the center or left lanes, except Mad Max, which seems to always want to stay in the left lane.

The lane changing exists on 12.6.4 too. I won't list the many examples, but there are bad "decisions" happening that used not to, especially during rush hour, when the lane I'm in is clearly THE ONLY one I should be in, where the freeway splits into two other freeways. It will be stop-and-go traffic, and it will decide to zip out into a lane that, if I get trapped in, I'll be heading the wrong way.

Road construction where the lines are still visible but blocked by orange barrels/traffic cones, dead ends, road closures, temporary signs, non functioning traffic lights STILL POSE A PROBLEM.

FSD needs to alert the driver and then transfer to collaboration mode (driver takes over for a bit). Not sure this will work in level 5 autonomous vehicles. This type of road repairs/construction will be difficult for humans let alone UFSD to navigate. Good luck on that one.

Did it again this morning at another location. 4-lane highway. Center two lanes go north (where I needed to go). The left lane ends up going west. The right lane ends up going east. In the center lanes, there is stop-and-go traffic. FSD decides to get in the "go west" lane with clearly no time to merge back to the center, simply because it was moving faster, even though it was not on the nav route.

Ok let's jump to 14.3.2 update included in 2026.2.2.9
What a difference. The speed and lane changes have been changed for the better.
The standard setting is now usable. Only one issue is each and everytime you disable FSD you MUST answer a screen with 5 questions you can not get around it and no way to shut off.

I still haven't received the update to 14.3.2, it makes me sad.

the price of free stuff or perfecting fsd edge case scenarios.

My gripe with 14.3.2 is it’ll go close to 10 over in a 25 or 30 at times now (in standard). Throwing it back and forth from chill to standard is uncomfortable but keeps me from 2 over to 5 over. Oddly it’s less likely to go THAT much over with higher speed limits. The driving behavior is MUCH better coming from stops and in neighborhoods where it drives like a local. Actually, that’s not great, locals do 30 in a neighborhood 25!
Getting 2026.2.9.10 and hoping new maps come with it. Maps or whatever it takes to make better lane selection decision around here. I think it’s wonky map data that causes the issue as the display shows all kinds of odd stuff coming up and going by when the roar is actually much less interesting.

Let us know how 2026.2.9.10 goes! I'm still on 2026.2.9.3 (FSD 14.2.2.5), and it seems like Tesla is sending out the first wave to the cars that were already on 2026.2.9.9 or 2026.2.9.8 with FSD 14.3.2 so far. Is the driving better overall other than navigation and speed profiles? I've heard some people saying that it can sometimes do harsh braking for things like squirrels or other small objects and that parking seems worse. I'm honestly hoping I can get the update (even with its quirks) just to try it out and put it through its paces in my downtown area.

I think the only difference in .10 is that new disengagement menu.

From 14.2 to 14.3- I *think* that’s when most of this happened anyway- turn signals don’t come on too soon. Sometimes they came on early enough to be confusing as to what the car’s intention was, mostly in city blocks. I had the car actually turn too early vs what the nav was wanting on rare occasions and that hasn’t happened in the short time I have had 14.3. There were some weird 4 way stops with right turn only lanes and a straight or left turn lane, nav was to go straight and the car would jump into the right turn lane, that seems to be gone. Signaling out of a roundabout seems more appropriate when it happens. Seems more capable coming off stop signs where visibility is blocked left and/or right. All ‘round more ‘confident’ and quicker responses.
The car saw an emergency vehicle approaching from in front of me before I did and reacted. It had been doing that, mostly when they come up from behind but this is the second one that *I* should have seen / detected first.
All good changes from what I’ve seen so far. Sadly no map updates, those are separate but I was hoping.

That sounds like an overall improvement, especially the turn signal part. Just today I had the car signal 2 blocks ahead of where it was actually going to turn, and I actually got honked at (keep in mind I'm still on 14.2.2.5). Have you noticed any differences in parking behavior or entering/exiting parking lots?

Yes, the signal too early thing was annoying to others. Today I only went a short distance but it parked decisively and fine. The car it parked next to was on the line and therefore I was nudged over too much for my comfort so I moved the car myself forgetting that I could just hold a spot on the screen and go there! I did autopark into the second spot which felt more decisive but not so quick to be unsettling. If that makes sense.
SO FAR it has been better about pulling into the correct side of my U shaped driveway, it even pulls into the garage for me as it has been doing. Sadly it stops short of pulling into the garage far enough, probably because there is a small step up that the front of the car could clear by millimeters. So the front of the car stops right in front of the step (well done actually) instead of ignoring it and parking over the step and up to the wall where the front wheels would actually bump the step.
Leaving the lot the car took a different route than in the past. Over a bunch of speed bumps & humps which it reacted to appropriately. Not sure what inspired it to go right instead of left but it was fine. The usual route would take me to make a left onto a decently busy street with a traffic light a few hundred feet ahead, two lanes both ways with a suicide lane. Traffic can screw you out of that left for a few minutes depending on the day. The routing was unchanged AFAIK so that may just be where I was parked and facing.

Feels even more ‘human’ but in a good way :) . Can’t wait for routing to get smarter, sure hope it can get their with the current maps.

Correct the menu is now smaller and if you want to leave voice feed back it does close out the now black box on the bottom of the screen.
