Well this is definitely a time saver-but realistically how many times does one need to log into their Tesla account.

Some elements of feedback:

• Passkeys are added to the website, not so much to Tesla app.
• Quoting: "The same Tesla app update is also making its way to Android users". So the author has an iPhone and assumes that's the main case, while people who use Android fall in an "also" group. Would be fine in an amateur blog, which NATA doesn't present itself as.
• Quoting: "Android users, where passkey support is expected to work similarly using fingerprint authentication and Google’s credential management". Passkeys are not tied to Google (or Apple, for that matter). Vendor-independence is precisely the point of passkeys. A journalistic article about passkey support warrants a preliminary 15-min research on the subject.

Anyways the article did the job as a hint, so there's that.

SO its basically facial recognition instead of typing a passcode-----like yr phone accept the iphone still asks to type in your password when phone is idle for more than 10 minutes.

If they could incorporate this into say........the SIDE pillar of your Tesla......thats news worthy and a much needed feature. Obviously the biggest down fall of passkeys is if one misplaces their phone, battery is drained, phone is locked in trunk, phone is stolen, phone is damaged beyond repair, transitioning into new phone (which is a nightmare), etc
