On the surface, this looks like a good thing. However, I am worried about the whole warranty coverage issue. I'm guessing that the part's own manufacturer warranty would still cover defective parts and similar issues, but if it impacts warranty coverage on other parts of the car, then that is concerning. For example, if you choose third‑party wiper blades and they happen to cause damage to your windshield, you can probably get replacement wiper blades from the manufacturer, but you're out of luck regarding a free windshield replacement or repair.

That said, I'd love it if they could offer more tire options. Once I wore through the stock tires I got with the car (Hankook Ventus S1), I immediately swapped them out for better tires (Hankook iON Evo AS). It would be nice if they gave you a range of tires that aren't the default ones that you typically see the cars ship with.
