Induction charging is inherently AC.. The inductors that form the transformer link between the charger and the car require AC power to transfer the energy. The car side of the induction charger must convert this AC to charging level DC. This AC is may be a different voltage and frequency that standard wall power. While it is correct to state that the NACS connector can't be used with any existing wall charger it is possible a low power (slower) DC charger could be built and sold for home use. The expense of doing so would shift from the the onboard charger in the car (like 3,Y etc) to the wall charger.
