Nope, I take major issue with this. I want max speed back because often what ends up happening is that FSD will want to "match the flow of traffic," but instead it sees one or two cars going over the speed limit and chooses to go 10, 15, or even 20 mph over the speed limit (depending on speed profile).

This is especially noticeable on highways where most of the speed limits near me are 55 MPH and FSD will choose to go 70 or 75 MPH on standard profile simply because it happened to come across a handful of cars going that speed. Until Tesla is willing to take the speeding ticket for me, I want to control the speed that the car is allowed to go.

And that is the crux of the issue: Tesla and, by extension, FSD cannot determine what is best for every given scenario or what local police/traffic enforcement is like. Some areas have more strict speeding measures, while others are more relaxed, and there simply isn't a way for FSD to know this.

Sure, you can have the software learn preferred user behavior, but that user behavior could be worse for everyone overall. If you don't want to give us max speed back, at least do something about getting the speed limit wrong (especially in school zones) about 30% of the time.

And, me having to switch between standard and chill or even sloth, then back again is more input.
Good luck figuring this out without a +5MPH max or something like that.

Im not sure what the new speed titles will be but Im am sure it was a compliant issue stemming from NHTSA or some other entity.

To be fair-the old ones are out, lets just wait n see what the new speed profiles are before we all go off an a tangent.

Ashok may think he's onto a good idea, most Australian FSD users want the ability to override the speed FSD has interpolated from the faultu data on public domain maps and from the software being incapable of 100% correctly reading the numerous speed limit signs along the roads. Perhaps Tesla should show some humility and understand that what may work in USA definitely doesn't work in the rest of the world (Australia, EU, Korea, Japan, China etc etc)

That’s what software i.e. new lines of code function is. I doubt they would swap out cameras at this point. So, it has to fall on the tech gurus…..they have collected enough data so theoretically a solution is nearby.
