God, i just hope V14 lite does not need to be approved seperatly from the normal V14, otherwise this will again take years until this arrives for HW3 in Europe :D

Good Question. As far as i know, the pressure is quite high for Tesla to not just abandon HW3 cars because if there will ever be a hardware upgrade, it will still take years until this happens. In the meantime, they have to at least bring a V14 lite to the cars because HW3 still is active on a major part of the fleet as far as i know. I can't prove if its correct but theres an estimate of 3 million HW3 vehicles still driving around, and about 4.5 to 5 million HW4 vehicles currently.

There hasn't been a single peep about V14 Lite, but they still technically have about 2 weeks left in the month. My guess is that it is delayed OR they scrap the idea entirely, either way, I'm not expecting them to deliver so that if they do, it is a pleasant surprise. Not that this affects me directly, but it shows that they at least care about their customers enough to not leave them hanging.

It's been radio silence since the article from a few weeks ago. I've quit waiting and mostly quit caring. It's against my nature, but I'm slowly learning to accept "it is what it is" and not fret over things like this. It's easy with tech to fall into the "latest, greatest" routine. I'm about halfway to the point where, if it works well enough, save my money or my stress.

That is a good viewpoint to have! However, I'd argue if you purchased something so expensive on the promise of it functioning a certain way, then you shouldn't settle for "good enough." I think the least that Tesla could do at this point is at least lower the HW3 FSD cost to $50 a month for monthly subscribers while they get everything sorted. And for those that paid fully, they should at least actually deliver on a v14 lite as a holdover for hardware upgrades. I think that is the minimum bar in my opinion.

I agree with you, but I'm not going to stress about it. When the car was new, I was one of those running to the garage 5 times a day checking for the holiday update. I paid for FSD in full in late 2021. I was ignorant about the hardware limitations at that time and infatuated with the car. Now it's a car. That still does some cool stuff, but nothing about it thrills me 5 years later. I'll be pleasantly surprised if 14lite comes along.

At this point, I'm going extreme and guess it'll never see the light of day. A class action is cheaper than investing resources in HW3 software and/or HW upgrades.

I see a headline calling me out this morning. Not sure how it's rolling out. Not here yet.

Lol, I guess they actually met the timeline this time. I’m guessing that there may still be some early access testers that will post videos? Who knows. Either way, I’m excited for the HW3 owners since this should be a nice holdover until they get hardware upgrades going.
